Recent Stitching and Stuff

I've been working on Victoria Sampler's Where Stitchers Gather. It's been easy to work on and I've made more progress that I thought I would.

I'll get back to it tomorrow but when I received the new Inspirations Magazine I found two great projects that just screamed my name. They are both by USA artists the first is Japanese Kogin embroidery by Phyllis Maurer I started on Saturday and made this much progress already. I used fibers and fab from my stash it is 25 count something and dark mauve pearl 8. It will probably be a stitching rollup. I've needed one for some time and had planed to use a purchased place mat to make it but this looks like more fun.

And it has a very easy article on Japanese temari balls with great instruction for one call Oliver Twist. The article is by Barbara Suess You can see the picture on here site. DH is doing the core and yarn wrap for me. I'm thinking a black string wrap with olive green pearl cotton. This looks to become an addition.

It's back to work the slave drivers want me to earn my paycheck. Geeezzz

Thanks for stopping by I love to get comments Please!!

I've admired Victoria Samplers a long time but haven't stitched any of her designs yet. Where stitchers gather is looking great.

You wips look great. I did some Kogin embroidery when I was younger but haven't seen it in a long time. Hope it makes a comeback! I love those Tamari Balls, but they look so difficult. I'll really love to see your's come together.
